LIGHT &
SOUND PROGRAMME
On the
occasion of the Shahidi Annual Jorh Mel at Fatehgarh Sahib, the much acclaimed
play “Sirhind di Deewar” would be staged on two evenings i.e.24 th and 25
th December (6.00PM to 8.00 PM) against the majestic backdrop of Aam Khas Bagh.
The play depicts Wazir Khan, the then Governor of the Sirhind, battling with his
conscience before and after bricking alive the Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and
Fateh Singh.Despite the perfidious Diwan Sucha Nand ill advising him, the sparks
of humaneness are visible in the positive role of Nawab of Malerkotla who dares
to walk out in a huff from the unholy court of Wazir Khan, raising his voice for
sparing the innocent lives. Later Wazir Khan is shown drained of his physical
and mental energies by the time the forces of Banda Bahadur knock on the doors
of his fiefdom. Under such circumstances the retribution is
inevitable.
With
beautiful light effects and melodious background music, turns out be a memorable
experience indeed.
