Smt. Amrit Kaur Gill, IAS assumes charge as Deputy Commissioner Fatehgarh Sahib

Amrit Kaur Gill taken over as new Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib today. She replaced Parshant Kumar Goyal, who was from Tripura cadre on deputation to Punjab and has been repatriated to Tripura. She was earlier Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister. She was accorded warm welcome by the officials of the district administration and contingents of Punjab police presented guard of honour.
Before taking the charge, she paid obeisance at historical Gurudwaras Jyoti Swarup Sahib and Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib, where she was presented Siropas.
Interestingly she started her Civil Service career from Fatehgarh Sahib in 1995 as Assistant Commissioner (Grievances). She is a renowned International Cyclist and led the Indian Cycle team in World Cycling Championship held in London. She won Gold in Asian Cycling championship.
Addressing the officials, she said that punctuality, discipline, transparency and fair dealing will be her priority. She said that the district administration is to redress the grievances of the people and to implement the Govt. sponsored public oriented schemes at grass root level.
